Sony Ericsson announced the release of Sony Ericsson Z770, a stylish clamshell created to bring you mobile Internet, email and high data transfer speeds. The new phone is a GSM/EDGE 900/1800/1900 and UMTS/HSDPA 2100 device that weighs 91 grams and measures 93 x 48 x 15.5 millimeters (when closed)
and comes with an "email set-up wizard" for a simple and quick access to your Inbox.

Being a 3.5G phone, Sony Ericsson Z770 provides fast web browsing to keep users up-to-date with the latest news and their favorite websites. The phone can also be connected to a laptop (via USB Cable) and used as a modem to access the Web from your computer. Furthermore, Z770 comes with Google Maps Mobile, offering step-by-step directions to help you reach your destination.

Browsing the web with Z770 is an easy thing to do thanks to the Magnetic Mouse Pointer, controlled by the navigation key which replaces the icon depending on its position on the website (for example, from text input to link or to pointer). Moreover, for a better reading on the 2.2 inch 240 x 320 pixels screen, you can pan and zoom into any area of the web page.

"The Z770 is deceptively powerful for such a compact clamshell phone," said Martin Winkler, Director Global Marketing and Head of Multimedia Web at Sony Ericsson. "It appeals to busy people who demand hassle-free email and high quality Web access on the move. These people need to be in-touch, need to be on top of their email, but don't necessarily want a smartphone or PDA. The Z770 is the uncomplicated answer."

Sony Ericsson Z770 also offers a 2 Megapixel camera with flash and video recording, PlayNow access, TrackID, Access NetFront Web browser, RSS feeds, Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP, Media player, MP3/AAC player, FM radio with RDS, Java MIDP 2.0 and Memory Stick Micro (M2) support. With a full-charged battery, Z770 can provide up to 8.5 hours of GSM talk-time (4.5 hours on UMTS) and up to 340 hours of GSM stand-by time (350 hours on UMTS).

The good-looking Sony Ericsson Z770 is showcased at the Mobile World Congress (11 - 14 February) and will hit the market in the second quarter of 2008 in three color options: Vogue Red, Exquisite Gold and Graphite Black, for a retail price that has not been revealed yet.
