Today, Japanese-Swedish mobile phone maker Sony Ericsson announced the launch of a new handset, the Sony Ericsson Yendo with Walkman. According to the company, the new device comes to the market as the first full touch Walkman phone, capable of combining music, social networking and communication in a single handset. Moreover, the Yendo sports the same touch UI present on Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 mini and X10 mini pro.

Sony Ericsson Yendo with Walkman is expected to be able to offer users a great Walkman phone experience while enabling them to show their individuality. One would be able to customize the device according to the mood via a series of color combinations. Not to mention that the four corner touch UI offers easy access to most used phone features, so that one can keep up with friends via text messaging, Facebook or email.

“With more than 140 million Walkman phones sold world-wide and touch screen technology increasingly gaining popularity, we have listened to consumers and provided them with the perfect combination – the first full touch Walkman phone, the Sony Ericsson Yendo with Walkman. Marrying the popular four corner UI debuted on the successful Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 mini, with our award winning Walkman phone experience, consumers now have a unique Communication Entertainment experience,” said Jenny Maltesson, product marketing manager, Sony Ericsson.

The specifications list of the new device includes a 2.6-inch display that boasts a 320 x 240 pixel resolution, a 2.0-megapixel camera, Bluetooth stereo (A2DP), Speakerphone, FM radio, 3.5 mm audio jack, micro USB connector, up to 5MB of internal memory (most probably complemented by a memory card slot), and a battery that can offer up to 3.5 hours of talk time or up to 312 hours of standby time. The phone measures 93.5 x 52 x 15.8 mm and weighs in at 81 grams
