14 DAY TRIAL // Unveiled back in August, Sony Ericsson Xperia neo V made its way onto the market in October in three color schemes, White, Blue Gradient and Silver.
However, the folks over at XperiaBlog have just learned that the smartphone will be available in Champagne Gold color as well. According to them, the handset should go live in Taiwan in early 2012.
Although white-themed phones are preferred this time of the year, the Champagne Gold version of the Xperia neo V looks appealing as well.
Sony Ericsson Xperia neo V is the sequel of the Xperia neo, but the handset maker decided to downgrade the rear camera to only 5-megapixels.
Other than that both smartphones have similar specs sheet, including the same processor, display, amount of memory and battery.
Software-wise, the Xperia neo V is powered by Google’s Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread operating system with Sony Ericsson’s proprietary Timescape user interface on top.
However, Sony Ericsson confirmed yesterday that the Xperia neo V will be among the first batch of smartphones to receive the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade next year. The company said it will begin deploying the major update to Google’s mobile platform from end March / early April.
On the back, the Xperia neo V sports a 5-megapixel camera with autofocus, LED flash, 3D sweep panorama, face and smile detection, as well as full HD (720p) video recording. There’s also a secondary front-facing VGA camera for video calls.
The Android phone is equipped with a single core Qualcomm processor clocked at 1 GHz, which is complemented by an Adreno 205 graphics processing unit.
In addition, it packs 320 MB of internal memory, 512 MB of RAM, and microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB, 2GB memory card included).
The phone’s 1500 mAh Li-Polymer battery is rated by the manufacturer for up to 400 hours of standby time or up to 7 hours of talk time.
