The smartphone runs under Google's Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS

Japanese-Swedish mobile phone maker Sony Ericsson has just made available for purchase in the UK a new smartphone running under the Android platform, namely the Xperia neo V.

On the company's website, the new device can be seen listed with a price tag of £249.99 SIM free (around $400 / 285 Euros).

This is one of the latest smartphones that Sony Ericsson made official with Google's Android operating system on board.

It features a 3.7-inch 16,777,216 colour TFT / 854x480 pixels touchscreen display that hides a 1GHz application processor beneath it, along with 512MB of RAM.

Moreover, the handset offers 320MB of internal memory, expandable via a microSD memory card slot to up to 32GB.

On the back, the new device features a photo snapper that can shoot videos in HD resolution, complemented by a front facer for making video calls.

“Share emotions with your Xperia neo V HD mobile. Shoot videos in HD and view them on the Reality Display with Mobile BRAVIA Engine, or see it all come alive on your HD TV in 3D. Need to see what your pals are up to? Go for a video chat,” Sony Ericsson notes.

The new device also comes to the market with WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity capabilities, as well as with GPS receiver and support for Google Maps.

Moreover, it offers a wide range of services available from Google themselves, as well as access to the Android Market for downloading and installing more applications and games.

Not to mention that it comes with Facebook inside Xperia from Sony Ericsson for a great social networking experience, as well as with other applications and services from the mobile phone maker.
