Although Sony Ericsson already announced the delay of the Xperia Neo for Q3 2011, the smartphone appears to be available for purchase in Romania.

One of the biggest online retailers in Romania is offering the Xperia Neo for 1,849 RON (about $650) unlocked and with free one-day shipping.

It appears that due to the recent unfortunate events in Japan, Sony Ericsson was forced to delay the launch of the Xperia Neo for several months and deliver limited supplies of Xperia Play and arc.

However, it looks like Xperia Neo is among the smartphones that will be retailed only in some parts of the world, and in limited quantities.

Xperia Neo is one of Sony Ericsson's new high-tier Android smartphones that was introduced at the 2011 Mobile World Congress, back in February, along with Xperia Play, Xperia Pro and Xperia arc.

Even though the handset manufacturer stated that the Xperia Neo will be available in three color versions (Blue Gradient, Red, Silver), the Romanian online retailer is currently selling the blue variant.

Powered by Android 2.3 Gingerbread platform, Xperia Neo is equipped with a single core 1GHz Qualcomm MSM8255 Snapdragon processor, complemented by an Adreno 205 GPU.

The phone comes with a 3.7-inch LED-backlit LCD capacitive touchscreen, which is based on the Sony Mobile BRAVIA engine and features a scratch-resistant surface.

It packs 320 MB storage, 512 MB RAM, as well as microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB), but it is unclear if the phone is delivered with an additional 8 GB microSD memory card in the sales package.

The HSDPA-enabled smartphone offers users a wide array of connectivity options such as: Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and DLNA function, Wi-Fi hotspot feature, Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP support, as well GPS with A-GPS.

There's no information regarding the retailer's stocks of the Xperia Neo, but judging by the phone's high price, it is highly unlikely to see its stocks depleting too fast.
