14 DAY TRIAL // The Xperia mini made its appearance on the official Sony Ericsson India website for quite a while now, but only today the phone has become available for pre-order.
Although the smartphone was expected to arrive in India two weeks ago, Sony Ericsson India delayed the launch of the device in the country for unknown reasons.
Currently, the Xperia mini is available for pre-order via major retailer Letsbuy for Rs. 13,499 (about $295).
According to the retailers the delivery time is 2-4 working days, which means that the Xperia mini is about to make its debut in India by the end of the week.
Obviously, Letsbuy includes free delivery with the offer, along with one year of warranty for the handset and 6 months for accessories.
Potential customers can pre-order the Xperia mini ST15i starting today and pay for the device on delivery.
As Sony Ericsson India describes the phone, “Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini is a trendy phone, the dimensions are small but the experience is big.” Unlike its Xperia mini pro sibling, the Xperia mini does not come with a full slide-out QWERTY keyboard, instead it offers a touch experience via its virtual keypad.
The phone is powered by Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) platform and is equipped with a single core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor clocked at 1GHz and complemented by an Adreno 205 GPU.
In addition, Xperia mini packs 320 MB of internal memory, 512 MB of RAM and microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).
According to Sony Ericsson, the smartphone should be delivered with a free 2GB microSD card slot in the sales package, but Letsbuy does not mention anything about it yet.
Xperia mini has a 3.0-inch LED-backlit LCD, capacitive touchscreen with 16 million colors support and 320 x 480 pixels resolution, based on Sony Mobile BRAVIA Engine.
Users can take advantage of multiple connectivity options, including Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n with DLNA function, Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP and microUSB, as well as GPS with A-GPS support and digital compass.
