Japanese-Swedish mobile phone maker Sony Ericsson might step into the light at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas and unveil to the world one of its latest additions to the Xperia line, the Sony Ericsson Xperia X12, which was spotted into the wild before as the Anzu.

Apparently, the company decided to tease the launch of a new smartphone outside the Las Vegas Convention Centre, where a series of posters showing a piece of the handset were spotted.

According to a recent article on Pocket-lint, Sony Ericsson would be set to make an official announcement on this device as soon as today, Wednesday, January 5th, during a Sony press conference at CES.

Although this hasn't been confirmed as of now, we can have a glimpse at what the device might look like, courtesy of the said poster campaign.

The Sony Ericsson Anzu was spotted into the wild before, and is expected to land on shelves as one of the slimmest mobile phones on the market, even thinner than the iPhone 4, at least this is what we can see in the new photos available with it.

The handset seems to be just a little bigger than the 3.5mm stereo jack that can be seen on its side, and promises “More Entertainment at the Touch of a Button.”

Since Sony Ericsson said a few months ago that it won't launch a Windows Phone 7 device very soon, this device is expected to run under Google's Android, the same as some other rumored smartphones from the company.

During the first quarter of the ongoing year, Sony Ericsson is expected to announce officially the launch of the PlayStation Phone, aka Xperia Play, as well as the release of some other devices, including the recently spotted Sony Ericsson Hallon.

The said press conference is planned for Wednesday evening, Pocket-lint notes, and all of the necessary info on the matter will be unveiled at that time.
