Sony Ericsson Xperia pro made its debut in India last year and was priced pretty steep at Rs 25,000 (500 USD or 385 EUR) outright. However, only a few months after its initial launch in the country, the Xperia pro gets a $100 price cut.

The folks over at AndroidOS have learned that Flipkart is now selling the Sony Ericsson Xperia pro for just Rs 20,030 (400 USD or 310 EUR).

Given the fact that Sony plans to reveal a few more Android smartphones next month at MWC 2012, Xperia pro’s price is a bit high even after the consistent price cut.

Android enthusiasts who are not in a hurry to purchase a Sony Ericsson device should wait a bit longer, as the Xperia pro will probably get discounted again in the coming weeks.

Unveiled about a year ago at the Mobile World Congress 2011, in Barcelona, Xperia pro made it to the market only in October, after numerous delays due to the flooding in Thailand.

The smartphone is powered by Google’s Android 2.3 Gingerbread platform, but the handset manufacturer confirmed that Xperia pro was scheduled for an Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade, which is expected to arrive sometime this year.

One thing that sets Xperia pro apart from other Xperia series devices is the slide-out 4-row QWERTY keyboard. Other than that, the smartphone comes with all the standard features one would expect from a mid-range Android phone.

The Xperia pro is equipped with a single core processor clocked at 1 GHz, an Adreno 205 graphics processing unit and a 3.7-inch scratch-resistant capacitive touchscreen display (480 x 854 pixels resolution) based on Sony Mobile BRAVIA Engine.

It also packs 1GB onboard memory (only 320MB user available), 512MB of RAM and microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB, 8GB memory card included). Wi-Fi, HSDPA and Bluetooth support is included as well, along with dual cameras.
