Wireless carrier Three UK has added another Android-based mobile phone from Sony Ericsson to its offering, none other than the Xperia Arc S handset, which was unveiled to the world only a few months ago.

The new device comes with a slim design, and with features and capabilities that place it among the most desirable handsets based on Google's Android operating system.

The new mobile phone sports a 4.2-inch FWVGA touchscreen display with Sony's Bravia technology, and also packs a 1.4GHz application processor inside, for increased performance capabilities.

On the back, the new smartphone was packed with an 8.1-megapixel photo snapper with built-in Exmor R sensor, capable of shooting videos in full HD resolution. The handset also packs a front facing camera for video calling.

“With the nights getting longer, the Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc S’s features really come to the fore, especially the Exmor R sensor which allows people to take sharp, vivid pictures whatever the lighting,” Sylvia Chind, head of handsets at Three, said.

“Customers can their share their seasonal pictures with friends quickly over Three’s fast, award-winning network.”

The new smartphone also comes with HDMI connectivity capabilities, as well as with WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity, built-in GPS receiver, and a microSD memory card slot for expanding the available storage space.

The handset runs under Android 2.3 Gingerbread and offers support for various Google Mobile services, as well as for applications and games available for download via the Android Market.
