Showing the final stages of the phone

Sony Ericsson XPERIA X2 is one mobile phone that we can all feel somewhere very close though no one can touch it. Rumors about possible launch dates for the device have emerged into the wild a few times before, none of which proved real in the end. Even so, we did have the pleasure of admiring the device in a series of leaked photos, and we can say that an official announcement would make a lot of enthusiasts out there quite happy.

Since Sony Ericsson doesn't seem to be rushing to bring the Windows Mobile-powered phone to the market, we should make do with the bits and pieces of info that surface every now and then. This time around, a series of blueprints for the device have been spotted into the wild, and it seems that they are the final ones, given the fact that the recently leaked photos of the XPERIA X2 showed a device resembling the blueprints in detail.

Of course, if these drawings had showed the evolution of the handset, starting with the early schematics up to the final shape, things would have been different; still, they are more than nothing, that is for sure. Unfortunately, no details on the hardware inside the device have surfaced this time, yet, based on what we already learned about it, we can presume that the already rumored 8-megapixel photo snapper that sports LED flash and auto-focus will be present.

Even so, other hardware specifications come with a large question mark, including the OLED screen, the higher-frequency processor or the 512MB of RAM. Hopefully, the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X2 will indeed come to the market with enhanced hardware capabilities, and with support for the upcoming Windows Mobile 6.5 platform (if not launched on the market with this OS right-from-the-box). Until more details on it become available, you can take a look at the entire leaked series of blueprints here.
