Japanese-Swedish mobile phone maker Sony Ericsson announced in late 2009 the launch of its first handset powered by Google's Android operating system, the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10, and now we learn that device is available for purchase on T-Mobile UK's airwaves. The Xperia X10 can be acquired for free from the carrier, on a £35 per month plan with a 24-month contract, but it seems that there is a catch, namely that one will have to wait for 10 days for the device to be delivered, at least this is what the carrier notes on its website.

Other than that, things seem to be lining up pretty well for the operator's users. We spotted the Android 2.1-based HTC Desire available for purchase on its website not too long ago, and now the Xperia X10 is put on sale, expanding the offering of Android handsets even more. Not to mention that both Desire and Xperia X10 are high-end phones and that users should enjoy an enhanced experience from them, as they arrive with a multitude of capabilities and features.

“Slick and slim design and awesome features make the Xperia X10 one of the best Android phones around,” T-Mobile UK states on its website. “Sony Ericsson’s first Android phone is a superb multimedia experience. Timescape cascades your texts, emails, missed calls, Facebook and Twitter updates on your homescreen. With Mediascape, view all your music or browse online on one screen,” the mobile phone carrier continues.

The specifications list of the handset is also meant to prove it can become a great addition for any user. The Xperia X10 comes with a large touchscreen display, an 8-megapixel photo snapper with auto focus and LED flash, fast performance due to its 1GHz Snapdragon processor, HSPA and Wi-Fi connectivity options, 3.5mm audio jack, a microSD memory card slot for additional storage space (with an 8GB memory card included in the package), and A-GPS, not to mention access to the Android Market from where users can download various applications for their handsets. Those interested in the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 from T-Mobile UK will find it available on the carrier's website here.
