An unannounced Walkman series mobile phone has just emerged in China, the Sony Ericsson WT18i. Although the phone is expected to be released in China, an international variant of the phone should be available in the near future.

As most of the Walkman series mobile phones, the WT18i is a music-oriented device that targets youth.

Even though the phone has yet to be announced, Sony Ericsson already published the WT18i white sheet, which contains the phone's complete list of features.

Specs-wise, the Sony Ericsson WT18i is an entry-level phone, which is equipped with an 806 MHz Marvell PXA 920 processor.

According to the manufacturer, the phone runs “OMS 2.5” (Open Mobile System) that is based on the Android platform.

OMS is a proprietary smartphone operating system developed by China Mobile using source codes of Google’s Android platform.

All devices that based on OMS are labeled as OPhones and are mostly available in China.

Although the OMS was upgraded since its release several times, China Mobile is still trying to catch up the pace of Android.

The latest version of OMS is able to provide support for the next-generation mobile Internet and communications technologies and stronger and more efficient technology R&D for family services.

Sony Ericsson WT18i comes with a 3.2-inch HVGA capacitive touchscreen with 16 million colors support and 480 x 320 pixels resolution.

The bar phone packs 150 MB of internal memory, microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB), and a 3-megapixel camera with video recording capabilities (480p@24fps).

It is fully compatible with China's TD-SCDMA 2010-2025 MHz band networks and features HSPA support (2.8 Mbps download and 2.2 Mbps upload).

The phone is powered by a standard 1200 mAh Li-Ion battery that should provide up to 6 hours of talk time or up to 200 hours of standby time.

Sony Ericsson has yet to disclose the phone's release date and price tag.
