Sony Ericsson W880i Gets Sleek in Black

- Pitch Black

By: Elena Balan, Communications News Editor

Sony Ericsson W880i has just been spotted in some leaked images in a new black color that looks elegant on it. All good, but the previous colors made it look much more lively, with the orange touches.

There is a huge number of all-black mobile
phones out there, with their simple lines, plain buttons and dusty designs and Sony Ericsson W880i wanted to be one of them. It's a rather weird decision to go with this Pitch Black version, aside from the previous ones. This makes the fourth official color for the handset, although there are low chances that anyone will prefer it over the already available ones.

Sony Ericsson W880i is currently available in the colors of Flame Black, Steel Silver, Havana. All these versions have at least a slight touch of orange, the color that stands for music phones in the Walkman line of handsets coming from this producer. The new one lost this special feature, although it looks good enough like this too.

The music phone has been released at the beginning of this year, bringing some average performances at all levels, although having great sound rendering capabilities. The 2 megapixel camera is nothing stunning, while the 3G technology that it includes manages to bring data transfer at speeds of only up to 384kbps.

There is also Bluetooth and USB connectivity included, along with support for emails and instant messaging. The phone comes with a 1 GB card included and can support memory expansion through a Memory Stick Micro (M2) slot. That's an important aspect with a music phone, as users will want to store as many songs as possible on it.

The new Pitch Black version of Sony Ericsson W880i is now official, although the producer has made no specifications on the market where it should be available or when exactly we should be expecting it.
