Sony Ericsson has announced a new addition to its line of Walkman phones, the white W810i. The device is a Quad-band EDGE phone (850/900/1800/1900 Mhz) that allows users to transfer audio tracks from CDs or download music while staying connected to friends and family.

Sony Ericsson W810i comes with a 512 MB Memory Stick which can be upgraded to 2 GB, allowing users to store music tracks, photos, videos and other multimedia files. Users can capture pictures,
as well as video using the built-in 2 megapixel camera with autofocus.

The integrated music player can be easily accessed via a dedicated Walkman button which quickly pulls up the music menu regardless of what application on the phone is in use. Just below the screen, there are music control keys for Play/Pause/Stop/Skip Track/Volume. A Mega Bass improves the sound experience when listening to music through the external speaker or the HPM-70 stereo headphones which come with the phone.

The music player supports the most common music formats, including MP3 and AAC. Users can transfer their CDs on the handset from the PC via USB 2.0 using the Disc2Phone music management software or purchase music online. Music automatically pauses when an incoming call is received and begins playing again when the call ends. The phone can also operate in a music-only mode.

The W810i is equipped with EDGE Class 10 technology, to allow quick data transfers and Internet access, and Bluetooth wireless technology for connectivity with Bluetooth headsets or other phones.

The Sony Ericsson W810i White Edition will be available in the third quarter of 2006.
