Orange, one of the world's largest mobile operators, now has its very own version of Sony Ericsson W595, called Sony Ericsson W595s. It's not the first time when the subsidiary of France Telecom seals an exclusivity deal with Sony Ericsson, the latest Orange-only handset (besides the W595s) being the G705u, announced about one month ago.

Orange's Sony Ericsson W595s has a Dusty Blue color, while its navigation keys are a bit different compared to the ones packed by SE into the regular version of the Walkman slider. The alphanumeric keypad of W595s differs a bit from it too, but, these aspects aside, it seems that Orange's phone is pretty much the same device as the W595.

In consequence, it will offer the same features, including: a 2.2 inch TFT display with 256K colors and 240 x 320 pixels, quad-band GSM connectivity (850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 MHz) with GPRS and EDGE, UMTS/HSDPA connectivity (2100 MHz), Walkman player with dedicated keys, Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP, TrackID music recognition, SensMe, shake control, stereo speakers, NetFront Web browser, email, pre-installed games (Guitar Rock Tour included), a 3.15 Megapixel camera with video recording, 40MB of internal memory and a 2GB Memory Stick Micro card.

Like the W595, the W595s weighs 105 grams (3.7 ounces) and, when closed, it measures 100 x 47 x 14 millimeters (1.9 x 3.9 x 0.6 inches). The slider comes with a battery capable of providing up to nine hours in talk-time mode or up to 385 hours in stand-by mode.

For the moment, Sony Ericsson W595s seems to be available only in Romania, but most of the other Orange markets should soon get it too (including France, the UK, Spain, Portugal, Poland, Austria and so on). The phone's price is still not known, but expect to pay about 200 Euros (270 USD) if you want to get it free of contract.

In case you're interested, a simulator with the W595s is available on Sony Ericsson's official website, at this address.
