Music all the way

Exactly on the same day they were officially announced by Sony Ericsson, the new W595 and W302 Walkman handsets appeared in two promo videos. Of course, these don't tell us anything new about the phones, but they're good "eye candies" for all the mobile users who like Sony Ericsson's products or music-oriented handsets in general.

Presented together with the W902 5 Megapixel Walkman flagship, the W595 and W302 are quite different from each other.

Sony Ericsson W595 is a good-looking slider that falls into the mid-end category. We haven't presented its full list of specs in the earlier article about it, so we're going to do it now. The new Walkman slider brings the following: a 2.2 inch TFT display with 262K colors and 240 x 320 pixels, Walkman Player with Shake Control, TrackID, PlayNow, MegaBass, FM radio with RDS, stereo Bluetooth with A2DP, Video viewing and streaming, quad-band GSM connectivity (850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 MHz) with GPRS and EDGE, HSDPA 2100 MHz connectivity, NetFront browser, email, Instant Messaging, a 3.2 Megapixel camera with fixed focus and video recording, picture blogging, 3D games, 40MB of internal memory and a 2GB Memory Stick Micro card (included in the package).

The W595 weighs 104 grams (3.67 ounces) and, when closed, it measures 100 x 47 x 14 millimeters (3.93 x 1.85 x 0.55 inches). Its battery should last up to nine hours in talk-time mode and up to 395 hours in stand-by mode.

Available starting the fourth quarter of 2008 (no pricing details yet), the W595 will come in four color versions: Cosmopolitan White, Active Blue, Jungle Grey and Ruby Black (the last one will apparently be a Vodafone exclusive).

Sony Ericsson W302 is, like the W902, a candybar, but its features are only on the basic side. These include: a 176 x 220 pixels TFT display with 262K colors, Walkman Player, Bluetooth with A2DP, Video player, MMS capabilities, a 2 Megapixel camera with video recording, 20MB of built-in memory and a 512MB M2 memory card.

Measuring 100 x 46 x 10.5 millimeters (3.9 x 1.8 x 0.4 inches) and weighing 78 grams (2.8 ounces), the W302 comes with a battery capable of providing up to seven hours of talk-time and up to 300 hours of stand-by time.

The W302 will be commercially available in the fourth quarter of the year, for an unannounced affordable price, coming in two color versions: Midnight Black and Sparkling White.

Until the W595 and W302 hit the market, enjoy their video promos below.
