Jungle Green

Sony Ericsson decided its W580i Walkman phone needed a change of look and, in consequence, the Swedish-Japanese producer presents a new green version of the handset. Not an ordinary kind of green, but a Jungle Green. Well, in fact it's a normal green, but the name is obviously made to sound a bit more unusual than just "Green".

Now consumers can pick up the W580i in no less than 5 colors: Style White, Boulevard Black, Urban Grey, Metro Pink and the new Jungle Green. While the first four colors are clearly targeted to modern, urban users, we're not sure about the target of the green one. Taking a wild guess, we could say it's probably made for all the Indiana Jones fans out there.

For Indy's fans or not, the Jungle Green Sony Ericsson W580i is the same music phone and packs the same features as the other versions do. Hence users will get 99 x 47 x 14 millimeters and 94 grams of the purest (or the jungliest) green, a TFT display with 256K colors support and 240 x 320 pixels, Walkman 2.0 music player, TrackID music recognition, FM radio with RDS, email capabilities, NetFront browser, RSS reader, Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP, Java MIDP 2.0, USB, Memory Stick Duo Pro support, 2 Megapixel camera with video recording and other basic but useful features.

Unfortunately, the green Sony Ericsson W580i is green only in the literal meaning of the word. Another recently greened phone, LG Rumor, is also green in the ecological way, coming in an environmental-friendly, recyclable packaging. I kind of wished Sony Ericsson did this sort of thing too, for the sake of nature (jungles and Indiana Jones fans included).
