All the latest original phone models seem to go to Japan lately. Sony Ericsson has just launched the W52S handset here, with a simple, but stylish look which is not so often seen in other countries from this company.

It is a relative matter whether the Sony Ericsson W53S looks better than other phone models coming from this company or it really is capable of higher performances. One sure thing is that Sony Ericsson sees the Japanese audience slightly different from the European one, for example, and brings it phone models with a completely different design.

Sony Ericsson W53S comes in several colors: black, pink and light blue. All fashionable and easy to use as statement objects. The cellular comes with an impressive 2.7 inch display, quite large for a clamshell phone model. This might make it seem a bit large, but it also offers several advantages. The screen has a resolution of 240 x 400, more than enough for considerably satisfying image quality.

There is also an external display screen, of only 1 inch and a resolution of 128 x 36. This is not so easy to see, as it discretely blends in the phone's case. Moreover, there is also IrDA for file transfer and the clamshell also comes with a Memory Stick Duo in order to enlarge data storage space. Let us not forget that this is still a Walkman phone coming from Sony Ericsson, so any extra memory space will ensure more songs to be stored and listened to.

The phone comes with a 2 megapixel camera, meant to provide high quality image captures. Sony Ericsson W53S is 19.9 mm thick. This doesn't earn it a place among the slimmest phones, but for a handset that comes with an integrated GPS, it's actually quite thin.

Sony Ericsson W53S will only be available for the Japanese audience. The estimate price for this handset has not been revealed yet.
