A good looking mid-ranged phone

Vodafone has recently presented its lineup for the fourth quarter, which proved to be packed with handsets capable of some highly evolved performances. Among the mid-ranged ones, Sony Ericsson V640i made a discrete entrance, although it will be an exclusive on this network.

Some leaked imaged of the handset have already appeared, showing its face to be highly similar to that of the V630i phone model coming from Sony Ericsson. The producers have made slight modifications in this handset's lines, by making them a bit straighter and less rounded. Aside from that difference, this mobile phone boasts some average performance, although no official statement has revealed exactly which these are.

One thing is for sure. Sony Ericsson V640i will have HSDPA support. That's one strong 3G connectivity, which also explains what looks like a front camera for placing video calls. Sony Ericsson V630i was capable of providing this capability, so why shouldn't its more evolved brother be able to do the same?

The phone should also be capable of handling music files at fairly high performances. Relying on the capabilities of previous handset model, the V630i, this one should also be able to handle email messages, RSS feeds and a fairly capable camera. Sony Ericsson V640i sounds like a highly capable device, although it is interesting to see exactly which its special features will be, distinguishing it from previous phone models, such as the V630i.

Sony Ericsson V640i will be available this quarter at Vodafone UK, although an exact date for its release has not been revealed until now. The price is rumored to come around 100 pounds, although this is also about to change once it sees a release. One thing is for sure about this handset: it will arrive exclusively at Vodafone until the end of the year.
