Japanese-Swedish mobile phone maker Sony Ericsson has had some issues recently with two of its latest handsets, the Satio and the Aino. Both of the phones have been struck with software issues, Satio apparently having been affected the most, as retailers from UK pulled it off the shelves. However, the company has resolved the issues, it seems, and now both Satio and Aino enjoy software updates available for them, with the former being put back on sale in the UK.

Here's what the company stated on the matter: “Sony Ericsson UK and Ireland is pleased to confirm that new software is now available for both Satio and Aino via www.sonyericsson.com/update. This will allow consumers who have already purchased the devices to easily update their handset and benefit from improved handset speeds and battery usage. We can confirm this updated software has been approved by UK operators and fixes previous software issues.”

At the same time, a recent post on the Sony Ericsson Product Blog also announces the software updates, proving some details on them too. The Satio now enjoys improved system stability, which means that its users should be able to benefit the most from their handset. As for Aino, the new software update comes with lower battery consumption and improvements to GPS, WLAN and Bluetooth, as well as a new game, Loco Roco.

As stated above, the release of the new software solution for the handsets has also determined UK retailers to resume the sales of Satio. Here's what Scott Hooton, Phones 4u Trading director, stated: “Phones 4u are pleased to confirm that all Sony Ericsson Satio stock has been flashed with new software and recommenced trading on Saturday 4th December. Sales of the Satio were strong over the weekend and we're confident that the device will continue to perform strongly throughout the Christmas trading period.”

One other thing that should be mentioned here is the fact that Sony Ericsson Yari, another new device from the handset vendor, is slated to receive a software update in the near future, as well. According to the said blog post, the update should include improvements to GPS and Bluetooth, as well as lower battery consumption, not to mention two new games, Snowboard Rush and Hamster Hustle.
