The new phone will become available in the first quarter of the year

Sony Ericsson unveiled today at CES its C510 Cyber-shot handset, a simple and affordable phone. In addition, the company also announced an application upgrade for its C905 Cyber-shot phone, currently considered one of the greatest devices around the world. The manufacturer managed to top 32 million handset sales worldwide with its Cyber-shot portfolio, which proves the company's commitment to provide impressive new camera phone technology to its users.

The new Sony Ericsson C510 Cyber-shot camera phone is aimed at offering an enhanced experience to a large number of consumers all around the world. According to the company, the new handset will deliver the highest-quality imaging technology along with a stylish design, the kind of innovation one would expect to be provided by Sony Ericsson.

“We have been leaders and innovators in the camera phone segment since the company was started,” said Sven Totté, head of Imaging Marketing at Sony Ericsson. “Now we are delighted to unveil the C510 Cyber-shot, our most accessible Cyber-shot phone to date which includes a host of new features normally found on more premium phones. Features like Smile-Shutter, YouTube integration and Snapfish by HP integration make the C510 Cyber-shot a really fun mobile phone to use. This phone will enable us to engage new markets and consumers to our Cyber-shot phone experience.”

The main feature list of the C510 Cyber-shot includes a 3.2-megapixel Cyber-shot camera with auto focus, Smile Shutter, Face Detection, Auto-rotation, Snapfish by HP, YouTube enabled, Photo Fix, SMS conversation style, as well as slide in lens cover and illuminated imaging Shortcuts. Other features include Media player, Bluetooth stereo, TrackID, Access NetFront Web browser, Bluetooth and USB support, Google Maps and Geo tagging.

The handset is announced to come in two colors, Future Black and Radiation Silver. Its 2.2-inch TFT display provides a 240 x 320 pixel resolution and 262,144 colors. The internal storage memory rises up to 100MB, yet the device also supports Memory Stick Micro (M2). The phone measures 107 x 47 x 12.5 mm and weighs 92 grams.

Sony Ericsson has also unveiled a software update for its highly-praised C905 Cyber-shot phone. The 8.1-megapixel handset will received new applications that will become available in mid-February 2009 on the company's official site. The C905 Cyber-shot upgrade sports Smile Shutter, YouTube, WayFinder 8, Snapfish by H and SMS/MMS conversation style. Moreover, it will also receive a new color, Tender Rose, available starting Q1 2009.

The company announced that the new Sony Ericsson C510 Cyber-shot camera phone would become available during this quarter of the year.
