Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications (“Sony Ericsson”) announced on Wednesday that, starting June 1, the President of Sony Ericsson US and Head of Region North America would be Anderson Teixeira, who is currently Head of Region Western Europe. While Anderson Teixeira will be in charge of Sony Ericsson's US operations in Raleigh, North Carolina, his successor as Head of Region Western Europe will be Kristian Tear, who will take up his duties on June 1, combining them with the current responsibilities as Head of Sony Ericsson's Global Customer Operations, based in Munich, Germany.

Commenting on the announcement, Dick Komiyama, president of Sony Ericsson, said, “Anderson has successfully led our Western European region through a difficult period and will provide Region North America with excellent leadership and a strong commercial focus. His international expertise, gained from a long and successful career in both Ericsson and Sony Ericsson in a number of markets will ensure that our North American operation strengthens its market position.”

Anderson Teixeira is a native of Brazil and has been part of Sony Ericsson since 2001, when the joint venture was formed. He was the Head of Region Latin America, based in Miami, Florida, after which he was appointed Head of Region in Western Europe, and went to Munich. As Head of Region North America, Teixeira will be looking after Sony Ericsson's sales and marketing operations in the US and Canada, and will report to the Executive Vice President and Head of Global Sales & Marketing Anders Runevad, who is overseeing the North American operations until June 1.

“Kristian has been a very effective leader in his current role as Head of Global Customer Operations. His experience of managing strategic global operator relations, both at Sony Ericsson and previously at Ericsson, will ensure that Kristian will build on the strong foundations in place and further develop our position in Western Europe,” Dick Komiyama said.

Kristian Tear is a native of Sweden, and has been part of Sony Ericsson since 2005, being responsible for strategic account management and for the company's relations with major global operators over 80 accounts worldwide. He helped Sony Ericsson grow its market share and establish itself as a leading supplier and partner. Before the joint venture, Tear worked for 17 years with Ericsson, in various senior management positions.
