New color versions for the entry-level candybar

Pink and blue are two colors that mobile manufacturers are very fond of, which is why Sony Ericsson has recently decided that its T280 candybar should be dressed in these colors too – besides the already existing Silver on Black and Copper on Silver.

The new T280 color versions are named Firmament Blue and Blossom Pink and, most probably, they will attract more female mobile users.

Succeeding another cheap handset, the Sony Ericsson T250 (released back in 2007), the T280 was first announced by the Swedish-Japanese company in January 2008, together with the T270. This T270 is exactly like the T280, save for the fact that it doesn't have a photo camera. Anyway, the T270 seems to have been canceled, as it no longer appears on Sony Ericsson's official website.

When it comes to design, Sony Ericsson T280 is not too different from the old T250 model, coming as a candybar with similar keypad and navigation keys. Feature-wise, the handset is a low-end one, bringing the following: a 1.7 TFT display with 65K colors and 128 x 160 pixels, dual-band GSM connectivity with GPRS, a 1.3 Megapixel camera, Bluetooth, FM radio and 10MB of built-in memory. For more details on the capabilities of the T280, you can read its Softpedia review, found at this address.

The new versions of Sony Ericsson T280 should be on sale across Europe (and maybe Asia / Americas too) in the next couple of weeks. Their prices will most probably not differ from those of the original versions of the phone, hence users should expect to pay about 100 USD (around 70 Euros) for the joy of owning this low-end SE candybar in pink or blue.

The T280 is the eighth Sony Ericsson to be spotted in new color versions in the last two weeks, after the K770, G502, W350, W980, C902 and W910 models.
