After the announcement of Russia Olympic Team's official mobile phone (Samsung Duos D780 Gold), another Olympic phone was recently unveiled in Russia, namely a special edition of Sony Ericsson S500i.

Called Sony Ericsson S500i Bosco Edition, the new handset was created in collaboration with BoscoSport, a well-known sport clothing Russian brand. Thus, the Olympic S500i comes with a special pattern on its white case, the BoscoSport logo under its display, plus sports-related wallpapers and screensavers. Other than that, the phone is the same slider that Sony Ericsson released in the summer of 2007.

Those who buy the Bosco S500i will get to enjoy the following features: quad-band GSM connectivity (850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 MHz) with GPRS and EDGE, a 2.0 inch TFT display with 256K colors and 240 x 320 pixels, Music player, TrackID, a 2 Megapixel camera with video recording, Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP, NetFront browser, RSS reader, email, Instant Messaging, organizer, handsfree, USB and 12MB of built-in memory, expandable via a Memory Stick Micro card.

Weighing 94 grams and measuring 99 x 47 x 14 millimeters (when closed), the S500i packs a 930 mAh Li-Po battery that should last up to 9 hours in talk-time mode and up to 370 hours in stand-by mode.

Of course, since we're talking about a special edition phone, the Bosco S500i is a bit more expensive than the original S500i, retailing at 7,990 RUB (about 220 Euros or $340).

For the moment, the Bosco edition of Sony Ericsson S500i can only be purchased from Svyaznoy, a well-known Russian retailer. However, starting the 1st of August, the new S500i will be available in other stores too - but it seems that only across Russia (hence SE fans from other countries have little chances of getting their hands on the phone).
