Announced together with Sony Ericsson C905 - the Cyber-shot flagship which packs a 8.1 Megapixel camera - the S302 did not manage to make it into the media spotlight, as the Cyber-shot camera monster attracted all the attention. Well, this is no surprise after all, as Sony Ericsson made the S302 to be a mid-end device that should bring users mobile photography at a reasonable price.

Part of Sony Ericsson's new Snapshot series, S302 is a slim candybar which comes with a design that resembles several other candybars released by the Swedish-Japanese company in the last few years. The highlights of S302 are its 2 Megapixel camera with fixed focus, flash and video, and the fact that it allows users to quickly share photos, via MMS, Buetooth or upload to blogs or other websites.

S302's full list of features unveils the following: a 2 inch TFT display with 262K colors and 176 x 220 pixels, quad-band GSM connectivity with GPRS and EDGE, Music player, FM radio, TrackID, Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP, WAP 2.0 browser, email, Java MIDP 2.0, organizer, handsfree, USB, 20MB of internal memory and Memory Stick Micro card support - all in a case that weighs 79 grams and measures 101.0 x 46.0 x 11.0 millimeters. The battery of S320 is a quite powerful one, and Sony Ericsson says that it should last up to seven hours in talk-time mode and up to 300 hours in stand-by mode.

If everything goes well and no "surprise delays" occur, the S302 will hit the market in October, when users will be able to choose between two color versions, namely Crystal Blue and Thunder Grey. The retail price of S302 has not been set yet by Sony Ericsson, but we should expect it to be somewhere around $300 - maybe less, maybe more, we'll see.

Until the S302 gets released, though, its video presentation is all there is to see:
