Sony Ericsson has announced a new clamshell for the US market - Z525a. The Sony Ericsson Z525a is an upgrade to the Z520, and offers users functions like Bluetooth, a VGA camera, multimedia messaging capabilities and push-to-talk functionality.

The quad-band GSM 850/900/1800/1900 features a 1.8 inch internal TFT display (128x160 pixels resolution) with 65K colors, and another CSTN external display (80 x 101 pixels resolution).

Moreover, the handset has Java applications, WAP Enabled Browser, USB support, Speakerphone, Video playback, streaming and 3D Gaming.

?The first Z520 has been an extremely successful product, and we are excited to enhance this popular handset with additional features," said Najmi Jarwala, President of Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications Inc (USA).

?The Z525 is a small, sleek fashionable handset that is packed with great features including Bluetooth functionality which, in the past, has traditionally been limited to high-end devices, as well as a great camera, and push-to-talk."

Sony Ericsson Z525a will be available in the Q2 2006. There is no word about its price yet, but it seems that Sony Ericsson doesn't have any interest in making it too high, so we can expect it to be quite cheap.
