Might be a new product

Mobile phone maker Sony Ericsson is getting ready to unveil a new product on Monday, September 21. The company has already placed an announcement on its website, calling for people to be present on that day on the webpage to “see how the way you listen to music changes forever,” which suggests that we might witness the launch of a new handset that is to be included in its Walkman series.

It's a common fact that Sony Ericsson already announced that it planned to change its business approach and maintain a focus on entertainment solutions for its users, and the upcoming announcement seems to fit this pattern perfectly. The ‘Put your ears in control’ event suggests that a music-oriented product is to be unveiled, yet we should wait for September 21 to come to learn what it will actually be.

However, we can still mention some of the rumors connected to the event and which already started to surface on the Internet. While some of them pointed towards the launch of a new Walkman handset, as we mentioned above, there are also others, such as Eldar Murtazin, who point towards other products, including a headset.

At the same time, the announcement might also involve something connected with the PlayNow Plus music service that Sony Ericsson and T-Mobile have recently launched in the Netherlands, and which might come to more markets in the near future. “SE Headset for Sept, 21 isn’t so great, turn on music/radio when you wear it, nice but so niche. Could put review now, but let them announce,” is what Eldar says, though BGR hopes that Sony Ericsson might finally announce something new and unique.

Whether Sony Ericsson will launch a headset or a new music-centric mobile phone or will extend the availability of the music service, we'll keep an eye on the company's website and come up with more details. Stay tuned to learn more on this.
