Sony Ericsson Paris Live Pics Leaked

- The smartphone might soon be officially presented

By: Florin Troaca, Communications News Editor

Unveiled at the beginning of April, the much-anticipated Sony Ericsson Paris (or P5) was recently spotted in the first live, real and clear images that show it to be exactly what everyone expects: a high-end, good looking slider phone.

Although, until now, none of the handset's features were confirmed by Sony Ericsson, the newly unveiled pictures come to assure all those who are interested in Paris that they're waiting for something really nice.

Besides the QWERTY keypad similar to the one packed in the P1 smartphone, Sony Ericsson Paris also features a 5 Megapixel camera that can be clearly seen on its back case. The camera has a lens cover, like many of the Cyber-shot phones, and it will most probably come with flash, auto focus and video recording. There's also a Memory Stick Micro (M2) card slot visible, but I'm sure anyone expected this feature.

Among the other specs of Paris (that can't be confirmed for the moment), we have a touchscreen display with a VGA resolution, GSM and 3G connectivity, GPS, Wi-Fi and Symbian UIQ 3.3 operating system. So it seems that Paris is a cool hybrid between a smartphone and a multimedia-centered device.

The person who posted the new images with the handset (here) also says that it will be launched via Vodafone, before the end of 2008, which is a pretty convincing piece of information.

Since we now have so many leaks with (and about) Paris / P5, it's probably the time for Sony Ericsson to come up with an official presentation of it. Usually, shortly after the appearance of lots of unofficial pictures with unannounced handsets, the producers decide to put an end to all the rumors and unveil the real devices. Knowing this, Sony Ericsson Paris could soon be presented with its true features. We'll see then if it's a phone that can "beat" Xperia X1 in popularity.
