For 400 Euros

One of Sony Ericsson's high-end phones that will try to conquer the mobile market (or at least a part of it) this year is the P5, also known as Sony Ericsson Paris.

According to some recently unveiled details appeared on Mobile-Review, the P5 will not get to be released until September, hence it will most probably hit the market at the same time as Xperia X1, Sony Ericsson's most advanced handset ever created. Paris will apparently have a retail price of around 400 Euros (630 USD), so it can be easily categorized as expensive (although the source that unveiled the price says it's "affordable").

Well, the high price is apparently worth it. Although not officially confirmed, the features of Sony Ericsson Paris include the following: built-in GPS, a 5 Megapixel camera with auto focus, flash, video recording and protective lens cover, a wide touchscreen display with a supposedly VGA resolution (640 x 480 pixels), a QWERTY keypad like the one packed in the P1i smartphone (reviewed by Softpedia here), Wi-Fi, 3G connectivity, Google Maps, the latest Symbian UIQ 3.3 OS, Walkman player, document viewer (Office Mobile more exactly) and an unknown yet internal memory that can be expanded with a Memory Stick Micro (M2) card up to several GBs.

An interesting aspect about Paris is the following: Mobile-Review says that, hardware-wise, the phone shares the same platform with G900, the G-series model that Sony Ericsson seems to have already released. Knowing this, Paris becomes not only a slider smartphone with a QWERTY keyboard, but also a Web-centered device that will allow users to easily stay connected to the Internet while on the go.

This being said, it seems that Paris is quite an advanced device, but we already kind of knew this. Now there's only the matter of overall functionality - if it turns out to be a good one, then users will surely love the smartphone.
