Sony Ericsson's Xperia devices are highly popular among mobile phone users around the world, and it seems that they are about to get a brother that will bring the series to new highs.

Supposedly called Sony Ericsson Nozomi, the new device is expected to arrive on the market sometime in March next year, some of the latest rumors on the matter suggest.

Apparently, Sony Ericsson aims at pushing the new device to the big league, and will pack it with a fast dual-core application processor, with each core clocked in at 1.5GHz.

The mobile phone also sports 1GB of RAM, rumor has it, complemented by 32GB of internal memory, but without the possibility to add up to 32GB of external storage space into the mix via a microSD memory card slot.

On the front, the upcoming mobile phone will sport a large 4.3-inch touchscreen display that should boast a 1280 x 720 pixels (720p HD) 342ppi resolution.

Moreover, the yet-unannounced Sony Ericsson Nozomi is expected to become available for purchase with a 1750mAh battery inside and with support for NFC.

Provided that rumors do pan out, this might become the very first smartphone in Sony Ericsson's offering to pack a dual-core application processor.

The company's latest flagship device, the Xperia arc, boasts a 1GHz single-core CPU, while its successor, the Xperia arc S, features a 1.4GHz single-core processor.

We already heard rumors on Sony Ericsson planning the release of a new smartphone that would pack a dual-core application processor, but nothing has been officially confirmed on the matter until now.

The same as the latest high-end smartphones from the company, Sony Ericsson Nozomi might arrive on shelves running under Google's Android operating system. Moreover, chances are that it might land next year with Ice Cream Sandwich on board.

For the time being, however, we'll take the available info on this device with a grain of salt, but we'll keep an eye out for more details on it.
