Wireless services provider Vodafone UK has just added a new Sony Ericsson handset to its offering, namely the Sony Ericsson Mix Walkman, which sports a great deal of music capabilities, and which can be purchased from Vodafone UK for £80 on a Pay As You Go.

The mobile phone was unveiled to the world back in June, and has been on the floor at the IFA 2011 trade fair in Berlin, where we had the chance to spend a few minutes in its company, and where Sony Ericsson listed it as powered by Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread OS.

This is the first Walkman device that Sony Ericsson brought to the market with a touchscreen display, and was followed by another similar device, the Sony Ericsson Live Walkman.

The same as any other Sony Ericsson handset included in the Walkman series, the new device sports appealing music capabilities, and Vodafone UK's users will certainly have reasons to like it, especially if they are music enthusiasts.

“Buy the Sony Ericsson Mix Walkman if you're looking for a phone that's great for music. The Sony Ericsson Mix Walkman lets you organise your tunes easily and sing karaoke - as well as social networking, calling and texting,” the wireless carrier notes.

The music capabilities of this device would include Walkman player and TrackID for recognizing music on the go, as well as Karaoke mode, Stereo FM radio with RDS, and, of course, a 3.5mm headset jack.

It also comes with a specific key from Sony Ericsson, the Zappin key, which enables users to easily find a specific song in the playlist.

“When pressed, the Sony Ericsson Mix Walkman's Zappin key previews the chorus of the next song. So if you don't recall a song by its name, you can quickly find out how it goes,” the carrier explains.

The mobile phone comes to the market with a 3-inch touchscreen display that can deliver a QVGA resolution, as well as with a 3.2-megapixel photo snapper on its back.

It also sports WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity, as well as Facebook and Twitter applications, or YouTube and Picassa, and with other social networking capabilities as well.

The new Sony Ericsson Mix Walkman was listed on the wireless carrier's website here.
