Sony Ericsson’s Walkman series of phones is known for its high quality music features, as well as for their affordable price. With Android now becoming the most popular mobile platform in the world, the company thought to mix its successful music phones with the highly-acclaimed operating system.

 

The result is Sony Ericsson Live with Walkman, a smartphone aimed at customers who prefer music phones over other type of devices. This is the second Walkman branded phone that runs Google Android platform.

 

Although the smartphone has yet to be introduced in India, fans of Sony Ericsson’s Walkman series can pre-order the “Live with Walkman” handset from Flipkart for Rs 14,550 (275 USD or 210 EUR).

 

According to the retailer the smartphone is expected to be available in store in the fourth week of December, but no exact release date is available for the moment.

 

Unveiled back in August, Sony Ericsson Live with Walkman (WT19i) is powered by Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system with slim chances to receive the Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade anytime in the future.

 

The phone is equipped with a single core Qualcomm MSM8255 Snapdragon processor clocked at 1 GHz and an Adreno 205 graphics processing unit.

 

On the inside, it packs 320 MB onboard memory, 521 MB of RAM and microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB, 2 GB memory card included).

 

There’s also a 5-megapixel rear camera with autofocus, LED flash, image stabilization, smile and face detection, as well as HD (720p) video recording capabilities. Video calls are possible as well, courtesy to the secondary VGA camera on the front side of the smartphone.

 

The smarthpone’s standard Li-Ion 1200 mAh battery should be able to provide users with up to 400 hours of standby time or up to 5 hours and 30 minutes of talk time in 3G mode.
