Only a concept at this time

Leaked information about Sony Ericsson K870i has already started surfacing, although a short period of time has passed since the K850i model hit the market. The upcoming device also features some impressive specifications and great looks, although it should take some while until we see it in stores.

Sony Ericsson will expand its Cyber-shot line of mobile phones with a new powerful device and great looks. Some people will be less happy to see that the handset uses a numeric keypad with extremely small buttons. The space should make it almost impossible to kit the wrong key, although typing large text messages on it should be pretty difficult until the user gets the hang of it. The navigation buttons also have extra small sizes, which might also present some problems.

The most impressive aspect of this phone is the fact that it packs a 5 megapixel camera with 3x optical zoom. That's not a breakthrough performance, especially as the number of mobile phones with such powerful cameras has increased over the past period. There is also a Xenon Flash and the possibility of shooting videos at 120 FPS. This should bring its performances close to those of a regular digital camera and also add the functionality of some additional features.

Sony Ericsson K870i has a 2.4 inch QVGA TFT display that will make captures display beautifully. There are also some impressive connectivity features, such as HSUPA and Wi-Fi, although the built-in GPS sensor will surely steal the spotlight.

The information is pretty vague at this time, leaving a lot of room to doubt the revealed specifications. This Sony Ericsson K870i handset has nothing special over what some other great camera phones out there have to offer, which might make it look like a pretty big disappointment if it turns out to be true.
