Its price is not known at the moment

One of the most popular mid-end Cyber-shot phones from Sony Ericsson, the K550, was spotted in a luxury version, dressed in lots of Swarovski crystals. These kind of crystals are well-known for dressing up lots of other luxury phones, so there's nothing unusual about this detail.

What's unusual, though, is the way the Swarovski K550 looks like. On the front case, the crystals are placed around the phone's display, while on the back they're encased in such way that they make a round shape and even cover the photo camera's protective lens. Overall, the crystalized K550 looks pretty weird, and I'm not sure how many users will want to buy it.

And, speaking of buying, there are absolutely no details regarding where from the luxury edition of K550 can be acquired. Moreover, its price is unknown, and it's not clear whether there are more handsets made like this, or if the one in the available pictures is a unique piece of mobile technology combined with the luxurious Swarovski crystals.

Anyway, regardless of its availability and price, the luxurious K550 can only have the features of the original handset. These include: a 2 Megapixel camera with auto focus, flash and video recording, a 1.9-inch display with 176 x 220 pixels and 256K colors, Music and Video player, TrackID, FM radio with RDS, Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP, NetFront browser, email and Instant Messaging, picture blogging, Java MIDP 2.0, USB, 77MB of internal memory expandable with a Memory Stick Micro card, and a battery that should last for up to 7 hours in talk-time mode and up to 350 hours in stand-by mode.

For more details about the features, highlights and drawbacks of the K550, feel free to check out the review made by Softpedia in the fall of 2007 and found at this address.
