Sony Ericsson revealed a new edition of its K530 handset, Sony Ericsson K530 Fiery Red, to attract users who don't like the other color variants (Thunder Black and Warm Silver).

The phone, also known as Sony Ericsson K530i or Sony Ericsson K530c, is positioned in the mid- to low-end range and includes some pretty nice features in its good-looking case that looks even better in the new color.

Measuring 102 x 46 x 14 millimeters and weighing 92 grams, Sony Ericsson K530 is a tri-band GSM device that also supports 3G connectivity for high-speed Internet access. It packs a 262K color TFT display with a 176 x 220 pixel resolution, plus a 2 Megapixel camera with digital zoom and video recording capability. The camera offers decent-quality pictures that can be sent via multimedia messages, uploaded to personal blogs or other web locations.

The K530 candybar comes with pre-installed Access Netfront browser, offering users an easy way to search the Web or shop online while on the go. Other cool specs of Sony Ericsson K530 include Blutooth 2.0 with A2DP, FM Radio, Media Player, TrackID, PlayNow for fast MP3 downloads, USB, polyphonic ring tones, speaker phone, sound recorder, predictive text input and Memory Stick Micro support for up to 2 GB of extra memory. Furthermore, the handset is Java enabled and comes with 3D games, a weather application (with a 3-day forecast) and RSS feeds for the latest news. The phone's battery is a Li-Po 950 mAh one that should provide a talk-time of up to 9 hours and a stand-by time of up to 395 hours.

The Fiery Red Sony Ericsson K530 is available for a retail price of about $250 in Taiwan. There is no word about its availability in other countries, but I'm sure the new color would be successful on any market, from Australia to Canada.
