Two new mobile phones from Sony Ericsson made an official appearance today, following a worldwide competition opened for the company's Facebook followers, namely the Mix Walkman and the txt pro.

The former is capable of providing users with a great entertainment experience, the handset vendor claims, adding that the latter will offer social networking features courtesy of a full slide-out qwerty keyboard and specific applications.

Both of the new devices sport full touch capabilities, featuring a corner user interface resembling the one available on Sony Ericsson's Xperia mini smartphones.

The two new mobile phones also pack photo snappers with video recording capabilities, along with WiFi connectivity, and chatting and browsing features.

“We wanted to take advantage of our extensive Facebook fan base when announcing these phones, bringing the fans closer to both our products and brand,” Quentin Cordier, Global Product Marketing Manager, Sony Ericsson said.

“We are really pleased that consumers liked them for their music and social media functionality and expect them to become great additions to our overall portfolio of entertaining phones.”

The new Sony Ericsson Mix Walkman offers a fun way of listening to music, with a Zappin key through which users will find favorite songs easier than before.

When pressing the Zappin key, users will preview the chorus of the next track, thus being able to decide whether it is a favorite song they would like to listen to or not.

The mobile phone comes with a karaoke function that lowers the vocal track from any song, as well as with various personalization options, including exchangeable color bands.

The Sony Ericsson txt pro features a 3-inch touchscreen display, complemented by the aforementioned sliding QWERTY, and a 3.2-megapixel photo snapper.

A friends application that Sony Ericsson packed it with provides instant access to updates from a number of five best friends from Facebook and Twitter.

Both Sony Ericsson Mix Walkman and the Sony Ericsson txt pro should arrive on the market during the third quarter of the ongoing year. No specific info on the price tag of either of the two was unveiled for the time being.
