Last week, Japanese-Swedish mobile phone maker Sony Ericsson announced the launch of a new competition for fans interested in winning new handsets from the company.

The contest would involve two yet unannounced feature phones from the vendor, and would take place on Facebook, where the said mobile phones have been already showed to the company's fanbase.

Apparently, these two devices could be the CK15i and ST18i handsets that were spotted into the wild not too long ago, and they would arrive in the hands of 12 people, who would need to come up with a review for them.

On the Facebook page, people would have to guess the phones' names, and explain why they would be great reviewers in 50 words or less.

The company would then pick a number of 12 users to become the reviewers of these devices. The list would be unveiled on May 31st, and these people would need to come up with a video review of the phone they receive until June 6th.

“There you can enter a competition to be one of the first reviewing one of our two upcoming feature phones before they’re even fully announced. 12 finalists will be chosen from the applicants and will be sent a phone to create a video review,” Sony Ericsson's Rikard Skogberg notes in a blog post.

“4 of those reviews will then be posted on our Facebook page and the one that gets the most likes will win a great prize. The selection of the 12 finalists will be made by a jury which I’m honored to be part of.”

Videos would be listed on Facebook for Sony Ericsson's fans to hit the like button. The review with most likes would be the winner, set to be announced on June 13th.

Undoubtedly, this is an interesting new competition from Sony Ericsson, and the manner in which the company outed the two upcoming devices is unique.

“This is an exciting new competition to help us to keep in touch with our fans,” Quentin Cordier, Product Marketing Manager, Sony Ericsson, stated.

“Whether they are social media addicts or karaoke kings and queens, this is a great opportunity for them to get involved with our products before anyone else. Once launched, these two new phones will add even greater choice to our existing line-up of entertaining phones.”
