A blue that's actually more like lavender

Sony Ericsson G900, the latest touchscreen smartphone released by the Swedish-Japanese company, could be soon offered in a new color version. Currently available only in dark brown and dark red, the G900 was spotted in blue too.

[admark=1]Appeared on the SEMC Blog, the new version of G900 is actually dressed in a lavender color, but Sony Ericsson might name it "dark blue", so as to match the original color names.

Anyway, regardless of its color names, the G900 is a high-end candybar that packs lots of cool features. For example, the handset brings a 5 Megapixel camera with auto focus, flash, image stabilizer and video recording, hence it's one of the top camera phones on the market.

The G900 also features the following: tri-band GSM connectivity (900 / 1800 / 1900 MHz) with GPRS and EDGE, HSDPA 2100 connectivity, Symbian UIQ, a 2.4 inch TFT touchscreen display with 240 x 320 pixels, 256K colors and handwriting recognition, Wi-Fi, Opera browser, Instant Messaging, push email, one-touch organizer, StickyNotes, Music and Video players, FM radio with RDS, Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP, document viewer and editor, business card reader, USB 2.0, 160MB of internal memory and Memory Stick Micro card support.

The candybar measures 106 x 49 x 13 millimeters (4.2 x 1.9 x 0.5 inches), weighs 99 grams (3.5 ounces) and includes a 950 mAh battery that should last up to 12 hours in talk-time mode and up to 380 hours in stand-by mode.

Sony Ericsson G900 is on sale across Europe, in dark brown and red, for retail prices starting at 350 Euros (about 550 USD). The new blue/lavender color version will probably hit the European market too, in the next few weeks.

Unfortunately, the G900 will not be available in the US, in either of its colors, unless Sony Ericsson makes a special edition of it, because the current one does not support the GSM frequencies used in North America.
