DreamSpring, an Australia-based software developer and a Sony Ericsson Premium Partner, announced the availability of its DreamConnect 3 contact manager for SE's new G700 and G900 touchscreen smartphones. Running on Symbian UIQ 3, the G700 and G900 can now benefit from the features of DreamConnect 3, which include: quick contact searches, one-touch messaging, finger friendliness and so on.

DreamConnect 3 is offered as a free trial and can be accessed from the G700 and G900 if users are visiting the "try and buy" section of Sony Ericsson's official website. Of course, in order to get the full version of the application, you have to buy a license from DreamSpring, which costs 25 Euros ($40).

Talking about the new collaboration with Sony Ericsson, Malcolm Lithgow, Managing Director of DreamSpring, stated: "We are excited to see DreamConnect 3 on the try and buy offering. The new G series phones are good looking phones with a focus on usability. I am sure DreamConnect 3 will further enrich the user experience."

Richard Bloor, Co-Founder and Features Editor of SymbianOne, added: "Anyone with more than a few tens of contacts will find DreamConnect offers a significant productivity boost over the built in UIQ Contacts application."

Coming with a similar design and exactly the same dimensions and weight (106 x 49 x 13 millimeters and 99 grams), the G700 and G900 share the following features: a 2.4 inch TFT touchscreen display with 240 x 320 pixels, 256K colors and handwriting recognition, GSM and 3G connectivity, document reader and editor, organizer, push-email, Opera browser, Music player, FM radio with RDS, Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP and 160MB of internal memory, expandable with a Memory Stick Micro card.

The difference between the handsets is the fact that G900 also offers Wi-Fi, business card scanner and a 5 Megapixel camera with auto focus, image stabilizer, flash and video recording (while the G700 only has a 3.2 Megapixel camera).

Both the G700 and G900 Sony Ericsson smartphones are now available across Europe, for retail prices starting at 300 Euros ($480) and 350 Euros ($560) respectively.
