Together with the C905 Cyber-shot flagship handset, Sony Ericsson has also announced today its first "gaming phone", Sony Ericsson F305, which comes to lure young users with its gaming-related features.

As Sony Ericsson puts it, with F305 you'll be able to "play bowling in the bus" as well as enjoy lots of other games in places where you'd normally not do it. The new F305 is a slider phone that features dedicated gaming keys, a horizontal gameplay mode, motion control, stereo speakers and three pre-installed games: "Bowling", "Jockey" and "Bass fishing". Thanks to the motion sensor integrated into the F305, users will be able to have a gaming experience close to reality: you can control the games just by moving your hand in front of the screen of the phone.

Complementing the gaming-related features, Sony Ericsson also included in the F305: a 2 inch TFT display with 262K colors and 176 x 220 pixels, quad-band GSM connectivity (850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 MHz) with EDGE, PlayNow (for quickly downloading more games or music), Bluetooth, Music player, FM radio, a 2.0 Megapixel camera, Web capabilities and expandable memory.

The new F305 weighs 97.5 grams (3.4 ounces) and, when closed, it measures 96 x 47 x 14.6 millimeters (3.8 x 1.9 x 0.6 inches). The phone comes with a powerful battery that can last up to 8 hours in talk-time mode and up to 400 hours in stand-by mode. Moreover, when the battery is depleted and you can't re-charge it right away, you can use Sony Ericsson's Power Pack CPP-100 accessory and keep the handset "alive" for some extra-time.

"Gaming is no longer something you do on your own. It's about having fun with your friends and interacting with the game. We have used motion sensor technology before in our phones and integrating it into gameplay is a natural progression", said Sven Tott?, Head of Product Marketing at Sony Ericsson.

Sony Ericsson F305 will hit the market in the third quarter of 2008 (July, August or even September). Its price is not known yet, but we do know that the new gaming slider will be available in two color versions: Mystic Black and Polar White.
