Sony Ericsson has officially unveiled its C903 Cyber-shot mobile phone, designed to offer users a simple way to take pictures. The slim slider comes with dedicated camera keys as well as with a 5-megapixel snapper that only needs for the protective lens cover to be slid down so that rich detail pictures can be taken.

The new C903 Cyber-shot comes with a full feature pack, allowing users to take impressive pictures through the Face Detection, which can find up to three people at a frame, while the Smile Shutter automatically detects beaming smiles. The BestPic feature allows for up to nine images to be taken in a fast succession, so that the best of them can be selected.

“The C903 Cyber-shot adds a creative and stylish mobile phone to our mid-range segment.” said Daniel Sandblom Global Business Marketing manager at Sony Ericsson. “The C903 Cyber-shot™ furthers Sony Ericsson’s digital camera heritage and makes capturing special images even more memorable.”

The handset also comes with an auto rotating 2.4-inch display that provides a 240 x 320 pixel resolution, so that users can view the pictures in vivid colors, but they are also enabled to send them to a blog or view them on a TV screen via the TV-out function the device includes. In addition, aGPS is also present, so that users know where they are or where they took the pictures. Images can be simply tagged to a location, while users can rapidly find their way to a certain place.

The C903 Cyber-shot includes support for GSM/GPRS/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900 and UMTS/HSPA 900/2100. Other specs include Bluetooth technology, USB mass storage, Memory card Micro (M2), support for Google Maps, FM radio with RDS, video streaming, Email, MMS and Instant messaging capabilities, Speakerphone, Media player, Video recording, as well as Organizer.

The new mobile phone comes with a battery able to offer up to 10 hours of talk time, as well as up to 400 hours of standby time. The handset will come in Lacquer Black, Techno White and Glamour Red starting with the second quarter of the ongoing year.
