Previously known as Kate

This model has had plenty of code names, despite never being a sure thing to begin with. When details on it were first leaked, it was believed to be called Kate, but only a couple of days later, the name was changed to Filipa. Nonetheless, after about two months since word first got out of it, this Sony Ericsson has finally received a name and real specs.

Now that the C510 model has stepped into the spotlight, some are arguing that this device is not really the Kate, but actually a different model that only slightly resembles it. There is nothing certain about this as of yet, but for the time being, most agree that the C510 and Kate are actually the same phone.

Still, at a closer look, we find that this model has different specs than those it was first believed to come with. For example, instead of the 5 Megapixel camera, a 3.2 one is in place. However, features such as smile shutter, face detection, autofocus, xenon flash and active lens cover will still be included, as it was initially presumed. Even after considering this slight downgrade, this handset still remains a pretty satisfactory one.

Now that we’ve reached the design part, what we see from the available pictures is that the C510 does not strike as a very appealing phone. However, it's certainly created in true Sony style, while the final product will probably benefit from a few touch-ups, thus making it live up to its reputation.

Other than that, not much information is available about this Cyber-shot, and certainly not any pricing or availability details. Until the Swedish-Japanese manufacturer doesn't go official with its new Cyber-shot line, this “mystery” that we were talking about before will probably remain unsolved. Most likely, people will stick to their own opinions regarding this phone's name and features until then.
