New handset from the C-series

Sony Ericsson will release lots of new mobile phones this year (besides the ones already launched), and C300 is one of them. The device appeared on a WAP profile from SE's website (click here to view it) and unfortunately there's no image with it, but we do have a few details about its features.

The SEMC Blog says the new Sony Ericsson C300 is from the Cyber-shot family - which is not so hard to believe, since the other two C-series phones, the C702 and C902 models (officially presented back in February), will soon be released under the Cyber-shot brand.

While the C702 and C902 are high-end devices, the new and unseen yet C300 seems to be a mid-end phone. The few features of C300 that we know of include a 240 x 320 pixel display, Bluetooth, NetFront 3.3 browser, Java MIDP 2.0, handsfree and a photo camera of unknown performances (but probably of more than 2 Megapixels). Besides GSM connectivity, it looks like there's also some 3G flavor, but we can't be sure of that yet.

The new Sony Ericsson is said to be a candybar, so we should expect it to have a design resembling the C702 and C902 - which is good, since they're nice-looking phones.

Since we have so little details about the C300, we can't know for sure when the handset will be officially presented or launched.

Besides the C300 and the other two C-series phones already mentioned, Sony Ericsson will also release, by the end of 2008, the following models (at least): Z780, G502, G700, G702, G900, W980, Paris / P5 and the Xperia X1 flagship. Added to the new handsets already available (like Z555, W350i, W380i or the high-end W760), the yet to come Sony Ericsson phones make a pretty solid line-up for the Swedish-Japanese company.
