Japanese-Swedish mobile phone maker Sony Ericsson officially unveiled on Wednesday another quite appealing handset powered by the Symbian operating system, namely the Sony EricssonVivaz, which is one and the same Kurara that leaked into the wild a few months ago. However, it seems that the launch was not yet planned to happen, so the company pulled the device off the web soon after.

The Sony Ericsson Vivaz (Kurara) is the second Symbian handset from the company that will come to the market with full touch capabilities, following last year's Sony Ericsson Satio. One of the most impressive feature of the new device is its 8.1-megapixel photo snapper with auto focus, which also sports 720p video recording capabilities.

But that is not all. The handset is powered by a processor running at 720 MHz, and sports a 3.2-inch touchscreen display that boasts a 640 x 360 pixel resolution and support for 16M colors. The Sony Ericsson Vivaz comes with 75MB of internal memory, but it also sports a microSD memory card slot for additional storage space (an 8GB card is included in the retail package).

The specifications list of the new mobile phone also includes quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE and 3G (HSDPA) connectivity options, as well as Wi-Fi capabilities, built-in GPS receiver, microUSB port, Bluetooth, a 3.5mm audio jack, FM radio, TV-out at VGA resolution, S60 5th Edition, and an availability in four color options, including Moon Silver, Cosmic Black, Galaxy Blue and Venus Ruby.

Most of you might have learned already that the Sony Ericsson Vivaz (Kurara) comes to the market as the successor of the 12MP behemoth Satio is. Even if the press-release announcing the launch has been pulled, some lucky ones managed to download a few photos with the handset, some available below, and to learn a few details on its launch. It should arrive in Q1 2010, it seems, while being priced somewhere between $670 and $750. Stay tuned to learn when it becomes officially official.
