At least in the UK

Sony Ericsson announced a while ago that it planned on releasing to the market this year two new high-end mobile phones, which seem to finally getting ready to make an appearance on the shelves, namely the Sony Ericsson Satio and Aino. The two devices could become available for purchase in about a month from now on, with October 7 expected to be the lucky day.

According to an article from Pocket-lint, the phone maker announced a press event in the UK for that day, “To celebrate the retail launch of Sony Ericsson’s hotly anticipated Satio and Aino handsets.” This suggests that the company intends to have the phones on the shelves around that day, and we must say that things are beginning to get a little more consistency, compared to the Q4 launch time frame previously announced.

As many of you might remember, the Sony Ericsson Satio is none other than the Idou, the company's first mobile phone to come to the market with a 12-megapixel photo snapper. Although there has been a long time since the maker hasn't said anything about the phone, such a high-quality camera is not something that one would easily forget, that's for sure.

The second device, Aino, was unveiled a few months ago as well, and is expected to come as a powerful multimedia device when launched on the market. The phone sports a 3-inch touchscreen display, as well as an 8.1-megapixel photo snapper, GPS receiver, and the possibility to connect with a Sony PS3 and with a PC.

For the time being, there are no exact details on the price tags the two devices will feature, nor on the possibility for them to come to the market via different carriers, yet more will be unveiled in a month's time. Considering the capabilities of the two phones, one can easily imagine they won't come cheap, yet, hopefully, not too pricey either.
