Sony is a bit undecided in terms of its PlayStation Portable platform, as the PSP Go, which saw a price drop this weekend from the current $200 to $150, is now back at the old $200 mark without any sort of explanation.

Sony is trying to make its PSP lineup more attractive until the Next Generation Portable will be launched at the end of the year, effectively acting as a PSP2.

We already saw last week a price drop being made for the regular PSP-3000 model, now available for sale for just $129.99.

Many people eagerly awaited such a move for the PSP Go, a device that already saw a price cut at the end of last year, from $250 to $200.

The price cut was made over the weekend, when the official Sony site showed a price of just $150 for the PSP Go.

But as soon as people started knowing about the discount, the Japanese company quickly changed the listing to its regular price of $200, without any sort of explanation.

It seems that this was a pretty big error on behalf of Sony, as it probably jumped the gun on a discount that pretty much everyone knows will happen at one point in the near future, before the Next Generation Portable will appear.

Sony didn't release any sort of statement about the mix up, so don't expect any sort of acknowledgment about a price cut for the PSP Go anytime soon.

Until then, if you want a cheaper portable console, then the old PSP-3000 is your best bet, especially since it has a UMD drive and doesn't rely just on digital downloads to play games, unlike the PSP Go.

Sony Europe also promised more PSP news in the following weeks, especially since the PSP-3000 has yet to receive a price cut in any European country.
