Sony has offered details on the plans it has for the launch of the PlayStation Move motion tracking system in Japan. The device will be coming there on October 21 and will be sold for 3,980 Yen for the main Motion Controller, with the glowing ball at the end, and 2,980 yen for the Navigation Unit, also known as the sub controller.

Those who plan on getting the Sony motion tracking peripheral on the first day it goes on sale can also choose to pick up the following titles: EyePet, Sports Champion, Beat Sketch, Fure! Fure! Bowling also known as High Velocity Bowling, Machi Suberi aka Kung Fu Rider, and Big 3 Gun Shooting. Sony has also detailed the games that will launch after release day, with Echochrone coming in November, The Fight: Lights Out during the same month, Motion Party slated for November and TV Super Star listed in December. Ape Escape will be launched at an unspecified date in 2010, while 2011 will witness the release of Sorcery, Tower, The Shoot and Heroes on the Move.

The company has also confirmed that Resident Evil 5 Gold Edition will be getting a free patch, which will come on October 21, allowing players to navigate the environment and shoot zombies by using motion tracking. There are another three video games confirmed as permitting the use of the PlayStation Move but Sony is not saying when patches for them will be offered. These are: Hustle Kings, Heavy Rain from Quantic Dream and the upcoming Killzone 3, the shooter from Guerrilla Games.

The PlayStation Move motion tracking add on will be launched in North America and in Europe on September 21, almost a month before Japan. It's not clear why the maker chose to delay the launch of its biggest product of the year in one of the most important markets for its video games and consoles.
