Sony doesn’t want to talk about the rather disappointing sales of its PlayStation Vita in Japan, as the company declined to comment after the performance of the new handheld platform recorded took a dive in its second week of availability.

The PlayStation Vita was released in Japan last month and, while its first week sales were pretty decent, it recorded a big drop after that, with its own figures and those of its games going down, according to various sales tracking companies.

When asked for a statement, however, the company declined to talk about the performance of its device, offering a simple “No comment,” via Industry Gamers.

During its first days of availability, more than 320,000 PlayStation Vita units were sold throughout Japan, while quite a few games appeared in the weekly sales charts.

Now, Vita games have completely disappeared from the top 30, with Hot Shots Golf barely reaching number 37, after debuting on the 7th spot.

Hopefully, for Sony’s sake, things will go better for the Vita once the console is released in the rest of the world, during February.
