Apologies are useless

Sony admitted the fact that they have created a fake PSP blog as a marketing gimmick. Supposedly, this fake blog was created by a bunch of teens in order to get a PSP as a gift for Christmas.

The embedded website alliwantsforxmasisapsp.com was full of comments by teenagers who were united by the sole desire of getting a PSP for Christmas. But the blog's visitors soon realized that no real teen could write such baloney and questions have started to appear as regarding the origins of the blog.

Another suspicious aspect was that the list of banned words included the terms "viral" and "marketing". Also, the blog writers tried to convince some of the visitors to use T-shirts in order to convince others to buy them a PSP for Christmas.

Soon, everyone found out that this blog was the creation of a marketing company called Zipatoni. What was the most annoying thing to fans is that, some forums posts were deleted, some fake comments were posted and some words were banned. This aggression on behalf on the site's owners is what made fans drift away from it.

Finally, some exposed this whole masquerade and when confronted, this is what Sony had to say: "Busted. Nailed. Snagged. As many of you have figured out (maybe our speech was a little too funky fresh???), Peter isn't a real hip-hop maven and this site was actually developed by Sony. Guess we were trying to be just a little too clever. From this point forward, we will just stick to making cool products, and use this site to give you nothing but the facts on the PSP. "
