Sony will announce the new point-and-shoot cameras on February 12

Lots of rumors are circulating these days about the upcoming Sony cameras that will be announced on February 12 and it seems that a few more details about their specs have also been leaked.

According to Digicameinfo, Sony will announce the following point-and-shoot cameras: DSC-HX400V, DSC-HX60V, DSC-WX350, DSC-W810 and DSC-WX220. Moreover, Indonesian technology agency e-Postel has also posted the WX350 and WX220 as approved Wi-Fi devices.

If the new information is correct, Sony DSC-HX400V will feature a 20.4MP back-illuminated CMOS sensor and Zeiss Vario-Sonnar T * 50x optical zoom lens with a 35mm equivalent focal length of 24-1200mm just like its predecessor.

The DSC-HX60V will also come with a 20.4MP back-illuminated CMOS sensor and 30x zoom lens with 25-720mm (35mm equivalent) focal length and 60x super-resolution digital zoom even when shooting video.

Sony DSC-WX350 is a more compact shooter that features a 25-500mm (35mm equivalent) 20x superzoom lens with 40x super-resolution digital zoom and 18.2MP back-illuminated CMOS image sensor.

In addition to that, the DSC-WX220 has a similar image sensor, but comes with a smaller 10x optical zoom lens that features a 35mm equivalent focal length of 25-250mm that's also capable of extending its reach up to 20x using Sony's super-resolution digital zoom technology.

Finally, the DSC-W810 will be the smallest and cheapest of them all, packing a 20.1MP CCD image sensor and a 26-156mm (35mm equivalent) 6x optical zoom lens.

Along with these 5 new point-and-shoot digital cameras, the Playstation maker will also reveal the A6000 interchangeable lens camera that comes as a successor to the current NEX-6/7 mirrorless models.

Sony A6000 will come with a 24.3MP Exmor-R sensor that features an improved RGB filter, as well as a Bionz X image processor designed to reduce noise and diffraction to a minimum and provide increase sharpness across the entire frame.
